My name is Grace and I have been working with children for more than 15 years. I am lucky enough to spend most of my time outdoors - I love keeping active, running and doing yoga. I have an interest in foraging and have been developing my skills in woodworking and using tools. I want to give all children the opportunity to be able to learn such skills and explore their own passions and interests.

I am passionate about high quality education for all children and I want to share my love of nature and caring for the planet with them. I have always had a passion and fascination with the outdoors. I first learned about Forest School during my degree in Early Years Education and later in my Post Graduate Teacher Training. This captivated my imagination. Working with children and families for many years in inner city London opened my eyes to the barriers that children and families face with being able to access nature and the outdoors. I grew increasingly concerned about the huge expectations on children, and envisioned an alternative where children can have increased access to nature and be able to explore, move and experience the world holistically in their own way. I believe this is the best way we learn.

It is well documented that spending time in nature is imperative for us all and particularly for our children’s well-being and development. Since completing my Forest School Leader qualification, I have not looked back and have committed to increasing children’s and families’ access to nature and the outdoors.

I’m fortunate to have worked at ‘Into the Woods Nursery’ with a wonderful committed team of people and had the experience of observing the countless learning opportunities and experiences for young learners who are engaged and enjoying time in nature all year around. This has led me to continue on this exciting journey with Wildwood Nature School.

I am so thrilled to be part of this school, working within an educational approach which fully encompasses everything that I believe that high quality education should be.
